LAWLESS: BEYOND JUSTICE (2001) (NAT JOSEPH)

Beyond Justice is the third in a series of made-for-TV movies starring Kevin Smith as policeman and later private detective John Lawless.

Nat (Dean) is a barman who lives and breathes the clubbing lifestyle of Auckland's K'Road. He is a friend of Kyle Vitale who is found dead, suspected of committing suicide. Unaware that he holds the key to Kyle's mysterious death, Nat becomes targeted by those who want what Kyle had. He befriends Lawless's partner Jodie Keane during the process of the investigation.

Private detectives John Lawless and Jodie Keane are hired by Lana Vitale who has come to Auckland to collect her husband's body. She wants to know why Kyle committed suicide. Lawless finds connections to Phil, a shady bar owner. It seems Kyle, a computer genius, helped Phil set up an internet porn operation.

Jodie is drugged and nearly becomes porn victim herself but is saved by Nat, friend and lover of Kyle. Lawless and Lana become romantically involved, much to Jodie's annoyance.

Meanwhile, Lawless deduces that Kyle was murdered and Phil is the prime suspect. He takes revenge by blowing up Lawless's office - Lawless and Jodie have a narrow escape. Jodie and Andy find Phil's porn studio but watch helplessly as he is stabbed by Nat - Lana had told him Phil murdered Kyle. But Jodie's investigations reveal another story...
